2004年底〝大纪元时报〞推出系列社论〝九评共产党〞后，自此，〝三退〞大潮席卷中华，至2011月8月7日三退人数已然突破一亿，洛杉矶退党中心及民众7日下午齐聚欢庆，祝贺一亿中国民众退出中共邪党团队。

阵阵腰鼓声，响彻云霄，祝贺一亿中国民众退出中共党、团、队。洛杉矶退党服务中心负责人李海伦表示，这是一个共同庆祝三退大潮重大里程牌的重要时刻:〝中共从它窃取中国的政权之后，一系列做的一些事情，都不是为了老百姓着想的，都是为了他们自己个人利益，贪污腐败的现象很严重，实际上很多老百姓的生活是很贫困的；老百姓说生也生不起、死也死不了；共产党给中国社会带来的是灾难而不是幸福。所以解体中共实际上不是我们的意愿，而是广大中国真正的老百姓的意愿。〞
李海伦表示〝三退〞引导着中国人民精神的觉醒:〝你退的话呢，是一个精神的觉醒、就不属于你这个团体中的人，譬如一百个人都退出，它不是就不存在了吗，它就等于零了，它就不存在了。〞
洛杉矶退党服务中心义工张小虹表示:〝现在退党团队已经超过一亿人，这是是一个非常可喜的事情，说明了中国人的一个觉悟；中共虽然网路封杀，但是封杀不住人民的心。〞
当天庆祝集会后，与会民众在华人聚集的热闹街口拉退党横幅，鼓励还未三退的中国人，勇敢脱离共产党。
